55+ Fitness & Yoga Classes
Fitness classes for the community & members ages 55+
These 40 – 50 minute classes held three times per week are designed specifically to increase muscle strength, enhance range of motion, realign and define body shape, improve posture, increase blood circulation, improve flexibility & balance or to specifically instruct yoga movements and positions. Pre-registration is not necessary – just join us at the Recreation Center. Bring your Recreation Photo ID to receive the reduced rate. This class is subsidized by Washoe County senior funding.

SENIOR SOCIAL CLUBS
Incliners
Ages: 49+
The Incliners are a social organization for those in the community who are 49 years of age and above. They meet twice per month, hosting dinners, special events and theme parties. A potluck dinner is on the first Tuesday of each month and a catered event is on the third Tuesday of each month. Prior reservations are required. For more information, call (775) 832-1310.

The Lake Tahoe All Veterans Club

SENIOR ACTIVITES & PROGRAMS
55+ Take-A-Hike
Join us for our 55+ Take-a-Hike series for 2008! Bring your lunch, camera, sunscreen and water as we hike various local trails throughout the basin from 9:00am-1:30pm. Residents $4/Non-Residents $9. Reservations must be made by the Friday preceding the hike and can be made by calling (775) 832-1310. A minimum of eight registrants is required in order for the hike to take place. Senior transportation is available for the first 15 registrants. After the first 15 registrants carpooling is encouraged. Meet in the Recreation Center lobby at 9:00am the morning of the hike.

Exterra 5K Trail- Monday, June 23rd - 5 miles; beginner/easy
Barbara Access Road Loop- Monday, July 28th - 2 miles roundtrip; easy to moderate
Mount Rose Frog Pond- Monday, August 25th - 5 miles roundtrip; moderate
Mount Rose Meadows/Ophir Creek- Monday, September 22nd - 4 miles; roundtrip moderate to difficult.
Full Moon Hikes & Wine and Cheese Social
These moderate 1 mile paved road hikes to the Crystal Bay lookout are part of the senior wellness program offered by the Incline Village Parks & Recreation Department and Washoe County Senior Services. We provide the guides, an optional shuttle to the lookout , friends, fun, wine and cheese. Participants are encouraged to bring a camera and to wear warm clothing.

The Big Wheels and Flower Pedals Bicycle Club
Join this group for a bike ride every Tuesday, June through October. The informal spin is generally on a hard surface and riders can choose an easy, moderate or a more difficult route. At the conclusion of each ride, the group generally gathers together for lunch and an “exaggerated” recollection of events occurring during the morning journey. Conversation Café
Conversation Cafés are free, hosted, drop-in conversations in public places among people with diverse views and a shared passion for engaging with others. A minimal set of agreements and a simple process create the shift from "small talk" to big talk. For more information go to www.conversationcafé.org.

SNC/IVGID Fireside Chat Series
Please join us for coffee and dessert as host Andrew Whyman delves into the lives of amazing people with amazing stories up close and personal. Free and open to the public, Fireside Chats will introduce you, firsthand, to folks who have had experiences that most of us have only read or dreamt about. Fireside Chats are a concept that grew out of the IVGID Senior Program Conversation Café and is a collaboration between SNC and IVGD Senior Programs.

Digital Photography Club
Join this informal club and learn how to maximize the technology that is used today in photography! You don’t even need to own a digital camera or a computer to be part of the digital photo craze! The participant driven agendas, instructions and activities will include:

SENIOR SERVICES & EDUCATION
Senior Transportation
The Senior Transportation Program, sponsored by IVGID, Washoe County and RTC is provides transportation to appointments in the Village every Wednesday. Alternating trips to Reno and Carson City for shopping or personal appointments are available every Tuesday. 24 hour advance reservations are required and can be made by calling (775) 832-1310.
AARP Safe Driver Course
Find out how to adjust your driving to age related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time in this AARP course. Course completion will result in insurance discounts from all Nevada based insurance companies (discounts are determined by individual insurance carrier and based on insured’s driving record). A bilingual question and answer session will be available for ESL participants provided by a collaboration IVGID and The Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation.

SNC/IVGID Lifelong Learning Program
The SNC (Sierra Nevada College)/IVGID Lifelong Learning Program allows Residents over the age of 60 to register in up to three fall or spring undergraduate courses at SNC on a non-degree seeking basis.
The classes are free of charge; however, there is a $35 administrative fee per unit ($105 for a 3 unit class) and you will also be responsible for books, activity, lab & parking fees. Each participant will be requested to provide feedback to SNC and IVGID at the end of the class.
Seniors can register for classes at the Office of the Registrar on the second floor of David Hall on the SNC campus (999 Tahoe Blvd.) with your photo ID. There is a limit of 3 seniors per class.
Fall Classes will begin on August 18th. Seniors can register for classes on Friday, August 15th from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. For more information, please call (775) 832-1310 or visit www.sierranevada.edu.
Senior Advocacy and Support
Chronic pain got you down? Join The No Whiners Chronic Pain Support Group! Find help to deal with your pain in a positive way. Move from being a patient to being a person. Get peer support from other folks living with pain.

SENIOR NUTRITION
The Senior Nutrition Education Program
The Senior Nutrition Program collaboration between IVGID and Project MANA is made possible by a grant from Washoe County Senior Services, partnering for healthy aging. The program focuses on meeting and addressing the nutritional needs of the Incline Village, Crystal Bay senior community.
